Two Step Paint Corrections
Enhance your paint's brilliance by removing clear coat defects and blemishes
The highest level of perfection you can achieve for your vehicle’s paint
The goal of paint correction is to eliminate swirls and imperfections, allowing your car to truly shine. Depending on your preferences, we can aim to remove 65% to 90% of the imperfections in your paint. This involves an intensive cutting and polishing process, known as a 2-step correction, to achieve maximum gloss and clarity.
However, some scratches and imperfections may not be completely removed. This can be due to the depth of the scratch, the type of imperfection, or safety concerns related to polishing certain panels with low clear coat.
We will assess what can be safely removed from your paint. It's not just about eliminating as many imperfections as possible; it's also about knowing when to stop to maintain the integrity of your paint.
The time spent polishing can range from 5 to 20 hours, depending on your desired outcome.
Even for newer vehicles, just four months off the lot, a 2-step correction may still be necessary. Despite being relatively new, the vehicle has likely been transported, handled, and washed by various people, leading to the accumulation of swirls and imperfections.
During this time, cars experience a lot of movement and care, which is why even new vehicles, regardless of make and model, often leave the showroom with noticeable flaws.
Paint correction is a commitment to your vehicle. To keep your paint in top condition after the service, proper maintenance is essential. If not washed and dried correctly, you risk reintroducing swirls and scratches in just a few washes.
This is one of the most meticulous detailing services. Depending on your vehicle's condition and the results you want, it can take anywhere from 8 to 15 hours to complete.

Two Step Paint Corrections FAQs
Do you come to me?
Yes, we are a fully-contained mobile detailing unit and can perform the wash at your home, apartment, or workplace. We service Bear, Christiana, Chesapeake City, Elkton, Glasgow, The Greater Wilmington Area, Havre De Grace, Middletown, Newark, Townsend, and more. We don’t charge a mobile fee, but depending on your location, we may require a minimum price for our service.
How long do the results last?
Once your paint is corrected, maintenance becomes essential. Think of it like training a pet to sit on command; you don’t just teach them once and expect them to remember it forever. Ongoing practice and repetition are necessary. The same applies to paint correction—you must regularly wash and dry your vehicle to keep that swirl-free finish intact. Without proper care, you risk returning to the original condition.
What tools and products do you use?
We use a diverse selection of machines, pads, polishes, compounds, cleaners, towels, and lights to work on your vehicle. Specifically, we utilize Rupes polishers and pads, Farecla compounds and polishes, Menzerna polishes, premium Rag Company towels, and many other high-quality tools and products. Each car is unique, which allows us to tailor our methods and tools accordingly.
What’s the difference between wax and paint correction?
Wax does not eliminate swirls or scratches from your paint; it merely conceals very light imperfections and can be applied in a few hours. In contrast, paint correction actually removes those swirls, resulting in a stunning shine. This process requires significant time and effort, typically taking one or two full days, depending on the vehicle's size, condition, and desired outcome.
